Overview

Seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to support management of major transportation projects in Southern California. Candidates must have experience in providing technical support on permitting application and acquisition, environmental monitoring, design review, and construction compliance programs to ensure compliance with environmental specifications or regulatory standards. Candidates must have an active QSD certification and will be responsible for SWPPP preparation and implementation.

What you will be doing

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    • Audits, analyzes and reports environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
    • Works with design and construction team advising how to avoid and minimize adverse environmental effects.
    • Manages subcontractors for project specific environmental work.
    • Carries out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the organization’s environmental risks and financial costs.
    • Writes environmental reports for supervisor review and leadership presentations.
    • Promotes and raises awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice.
    • Coordinates public hearings and consultations on environmental matters.
    • Trains staff at all levels in environmental issues and responsibilities.
    • Participates in environmental education and research.
    • Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic
    • Support published corporate policies.
    • Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.

What we are looking for

  • Additional Environmental certification preferred.
  • 8+ years’ experience in environmental regulatory and construction industry compliance preferred.
  • Active QSD certification.
  • Handling of Hazardous material and understanding of laws and regulations. 
  • LEED or Envision certifications preferred.
  • CEQA/NEPA laws experience preferred
  • Experience in airport environments is preferred
