Overview

Work and train with the industry's finest professionals! Flatiron's Summer 2025 Intern Program provides challenging and rewarding work opportunities for college students majoring in Civil Engineering and Construction Management. 

 

This role is an in-person role based out of the DFW, Austin, San Antonio, or Houston office. 

What you will be doing

  • Review contract drawings and owner requests for proposals.
  • Assist in building HCSS estimates or excel rough order of magnitude estimates.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Solicit or coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in researching innovations and cost alternates to provide competitive advantage.
  • Assist in recording meeting minutes, tracking RFIs or other organizational functions.
  • Assist in creating PowerPoint presentations, schedules or other graphics that may be used in a proposal.
  • Assist in reviewing or drafting proposal writing content.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
  • Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.

What we are looking for

Preconstruction interns/co-ops are required to be currently enrolled in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar program at an accredited technical college or university
