As a Business Development Intern in our Southwest Division, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and training in a real-world setting.  You will support the Business Development Team for the Southwest, focusing on alternative delivery. This includes, but is not limited to, building a list of priority projects and elected officials and agencies, and developing talking points.  You will support research associated to legislative issues and projects being tracked. Through this internship experience, you will gain research skills, intimate knowledge of the construction and legislative processes as well as building valuable connections within the construction industry.

In addition, you will assist the project manager, project engineer, and the rest of the on-site construction staff in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of engineering technology by performing any combination of the following duties at a project job site.   Field engineer interns will be required to have a working knowledge of the entire project, including plan interpretation, project specifications, project cost code knowledge, and the overall construction schedule. In performing any number or combination of the following tasks, you shall support published corporate policies, set a productive and consistent work example, and be responsible to follow up on all tasks assigned.

As a Roadway/Highway Specialist Engineer at Flatiron, you will play a key role in the design of complex transportation infrastructure projects, with a focus on roadway and highway elements. Lead design process during pursuit or post-award between design firm and internal pursuit or construction team to ensure the most optimized, efficient and cost effective construction design.

As the Certified Payroll Specialist, you will be reponsible for reviewing and evaluating all certified payroll. You will ensure compliance with labor laws and work closely with Project Management staff to resolve any issues. In this role, you will also submit status change forms for craft related changes such as Supervisor change, merit increases and terminations. You may also request employee dispatch from local unions.
